For our final opening sequence idea we wanted to go with a storyboard which would allow us to show diverse shooting skills, so we decided to go with a swimming pool theme in which we could have some underwater shots.
The storyline is about a girl training in the swimming pool in her house and she’s being watched by a mysterious outsider, whose wearing dark clothing and a hoodie which covers his face. The audience can instantly tell that she is training professionally by the fact that she is constantly checking the timer. There are tension builders such as match cuts, disturbing levels of sound, and also misleaders such as a person walking in the room who we assume is the stalker, yet turns out to be the dad.
We are also using a mind provoking method, as done in the thriller "Don't Look Now", which was directed by Nicolas Roeg, by having the initial shot just of the water which indicates danger and the threatening factor of the water registers in the viewers minds.
